About
Built because pasting credentials never stopped feeling wrong.
Assume began as Leapp, the open-source cloud access manager by Noovolari. This fork picked up where it left off — first to keep it running, then to rebuild it properly.
The rebuild went deep: a new React interface on a current Electron runtime, a rewritten CLI, a Chrome extension for multi-console work, and one shared core driving all three. The design system, the credential engine, and the release pipeline are new. The idea is the same one Leapp got right: short-lived credentials, generated locally, encrypted at rest.
Assume is local-first on principle. There is no account to create, no telemetry phoning home, and no server holding your keys — your workspace lives encrypted on your machine and nowhere else.
It's built and maintained by Atheeque Ahmed, one engineer who got tired of juggling cloud profiles by hand.
